If you looked at me on paper, you might not think much of me. I grew up in a poor neighborhood in South Bend surrounded by drugs and violence. I ended up addicted to drugs myself and was incarcerated on more than one occasion. I lost my son and a brother while I was in prison. But I am also proof that you are not what your circumstances say you are. There is no blueprint for coming out of darkness. I learned it all starts with your mindset. While in prison, I attended college, and I also started reading anything that would change my way of thinking. I applied these lessons to my life and committed to reinventing myself.
